Biography & Professional Experience
Claire Clarke has over 25 years of clinical and managerial nursing experience, having qualified at The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Birmingham. After consolidation of her training, Claire commenced her nursing career within the private healthcare sector.
Following an initial period of working on general medical and surgical wards, Claire moved in to the specialist area of Intensive Care. Over the following 18 years she managed an Intensive Care Unit, both patient care and its staffing. She gained a wealth of experience and knowledge in general, Cardiothoracic and Paediatric critical care, leaving with the title of Senior Sister.
At this time Claire met Dr David Ashton, an expert Obesity Physician. She worked closely with him over the following 8 years. Impressed by the ethics, quality and high standards Dr Ashton represented, and knowing instantly this specialist area of nursing was the area she wanted her career to progress in.
Claire Clarke has an in-depth knowledge of all weight loss surgery procedures and their management. Over the years she has provided a gold standard of patient care, with both quality & compliance to a world-class level. Helping hundreds of weight loss patients through their journeys, and not only those who have had surgery. Claire is also skilled in helping those patients who feel abandoned and need intervention to get them back on track to weight loss success.
As such, she has a thorough insight into what is required to be successful following weight loss surgery, and understands that it’s not just all about the surgery itself.
Any spare time is spent socialising and entertaining with family and friends, those who are most important to me in life!
